Jett – Border Collie x 12 months – Sydney, NSW

By admin Posted in Adopted, AWDRI Dogs, New South Wales (NSW) /

Jett has gone to his forever home in Western Australia.

Pound notes: Jett was great on lead & very responsive to correction. He very quickly learned to loose lead walk, knows sit & offered a short stay. Jett was happy to be handled, is people focused and loves a ball. Jett was affectionate & well mannered in the run. Jett showed nice interaction with other dogs in the run. Jett has rear dew claws that will be best removed. A lovely fellow with loads to offer.

New photos courtesy of twoguineapigs Pet Photography who had this to say about Jett:

I know I can’t have favourites… this little guy is so goofy that I had a hard time trying not to laugh (got to work, you know)

  • Gentle
  • Affectionate
  • Playful (goofy too!)
  • Intelligent

Tammy – 6 yo female Chocolate Kelpie – Eltham, Vic

By admin Posted in Adopted, Private Rehomings, Victoria (VIC) /

Tammy has been rehomed :)

Tammy is a beautiful chocolate brown Kelpie with big brown eyes and smiley face (although wouldn’t smile for the camera!). She requires lots of attention and is an extremely active dog, so requires a big yard to run around in and lots of toys to keep her busy. She loves a pat and tummy rub and is fine with the vet. She is very friendly with other dogs and will always submit (crouches down and sometimes rolls on back), before kissing them to death. She also loves the car. Any mention of the car makes her do back flips. Read the rest of this entry »

Zoe – young female ACD – Kurri Kurri Pound, NSW

Zoe is a lovely natured young girl who has been surrendered due to her habit of heeling the child in the family. High drive, a moving child is an irresistable target but she is not aggressive.  Anyone experienced with cattle dogs knows that they can exhibit this tendency but apart from this she would be a loving family pet. She would have to go to a home without young children.

Zoe has gone to Australian Cattle Dog Rescue. Read the rest of this entry »

PCC824 Female Kelpie x, 2 Years Old – Hawkesbury Pound, NSW

By admin Posted in Adopted, New South Wales (NSW) /

She was very timid when she came in, but bonded very quickly to me. Happy to be handled once you gained her trust & quite a sook. She went out of her way to avoid other dogs and seemed quite bothered about all the barking. Hopefully she will come out of her shell over the next few days. I may be able to foster her for a rescue group if needed. V.

Rocco – Male, Stumpy Tail Cattle Dog – Willawong, Brisbane, Qld

By AWDRI_1 Posted in Adopted, AWDRI Dogs, Queensland (QLD) /

Update 17/9: Rocco has finally found his forever home thanks to the Pedigree Adoption Drive featuring him in the Sunday Mail.

Rocco is a confident, extremely affectionate & doting young boy who is very typical of his breed- being a dog who is very adoring of his family..especially the children.

Protective of his surroundings- he will bark to alert yet he is certainly not aggressive nor pushy with strangers. He is buoyant and full of energy yet not over the top and he will gladly sit still for a cuddle or at your side while you work in the paddocks..given the chance with the right training he would make a very good working dog for cattle (he is too hard for sheep/goats)

He shows the right drives & is keen to learn just from his short time with his current foster carer on a working property.
In saying this- Rocco would be just as happy with a big backyard and someone to lavish him with attention and partake in daily walks/jogs. He would be very good in obedience competition or agility also as he is reward focused.

Rocco is good with other dogs when properly introduced.
He is ok with cats under supervision but not on his own.
Rocco is obedient, and easy to teach- a pleasure to have around!

Rocco is in boarding at the Acacia Ridge Pet Resort in Willawong, Brisbane, Qld.

Please complete our adoption questionnaire if you would like to meet him.
