Update 14/11/10: Note from volunteer – this young lady is so eager to be your friend and loves the attention. She is a real people’s dog. She is very intelligent, which is the Kelpie in her. She sits, shakes hands and lays down on command. She wasn’t interested in running around the big yard. As soon as I said, “do you want to go for a walk”, she raced to the gate, already to go, lead on and off we went. She walks well on the lead. She gets excited when she sees other animals, but she was terrified of the horse that is at the pound at the moment, and was quick to move on.

Please help us to make NO KILL shelters a reality. It CAN be done. Encourage desexing and legislate for better animal welfare laws.

Update 14/11/10:

Note from volunteer – what a cutie, he has such sad looking eyes. He is so sweet and loving. Very affectionate. He can sit and shake hands on command. He wasn’t interested in the toys and was happier just to be around you. He loved tummy rubs, cuddles and sitting on your lap. He pulled on the lead coming out of the kennel, but who wouldn’t when there are so many big dogs to go past in order to get out of the kennel block. It looks like he has some sort of skin allergy with a small loss of fur at the base of his tail.

Update 3/12/10: WE ARE THRILLED TO SAY THAT THIS BOY HAS GONE TO RESCUE!! HAVE A GREAT LIFE FELLA!! 

Update 14/11/10: Note from volunteer – what a beautiful dog!!! He is so obedient, he sits and lays down on conmmand. When I tell him not to do something that he is not supposed to do, like chasing after a cat, he stopped. He has a gorgeous nature. He is so funloving and affectionate. He shares a kennel with Imp 5491 a Kelpie x Lab. You would think these dogs had known each other all their lives, but not so, there is a gap of 598 animals impounded between these 2 dogs. They get along so well. It was easier to get the 2 dogs out of the kennel together than one at a time. They are like 2 peas in a pod. If one dog pulls on the lead, then the other one will, if one of the dogs walks well on the lead then the other one will stay at the same pace. It’s just lovely to watch them play. They had a great time. ‘Macca’ needs space to run around in, he is abounding with energy.
