Note from volunteer – I love these two (6267 and 6402) – I’d adopt them if I didn’t have so many smalls. It was like love at first sight when this pair met last time, and they had not forgotten each other and they just carried on where they had left off before. They are so funny together – they race around madly, stop for a sniff around, smooch, take turns humping each other, race around some more and collapse exhausted. She’s not on heat (just as well) and won’t let him get too serious, she just moves away. He does not mind her humping him at all, even when it’s his head she’s humping (that’s love!). Someone please save them – don’t let them die!

Note from volunteer – 06402  what a fun-loving girl, who just adores playing and chasing after the toys. When she didn’t see where the toy landed, she went searching for it. She sits on command. She showed no aggression to any dogs we passed and wanted to say hello to all of them. This girl saw two little maltese playing in the yard. She sat about a metre away, just to watch them play. By her body language, she seemed like she really wanted to go and play. She went up to say hello but one of the littlies started yapping at her, so she moved away. A delightful, happy, friendly girl – do not judge her by her cover – her website photo makes her look pretty fierce – she’s not. She’s very friendly, easy-going and good on a lead. She smooched happily with fugly boy #6267, running around in the big yard while he tried to keep up, but coming back for kisses and to entice him. Poor guy, he’s overweight and it was too hot for him to keep up with her.

Note from volunteer -  06267 a lovely sweet natured dog. He walks well on the lead. He enjoyed a walk and a run around in the yard, and he loved to have company, always welcoming a cuddle. There’s a lesson here – ‘Do NOT judge a book by its cover.’ This fugly boy, with bits missing from his ears, is an absolute sweetie pie, with a wonderful relaxed, easy-going nature. He and staffy x kelpie girl #6402 are in love. They had a wonderful time together in the big yard chasing around, but it was a hot day and so they collapsed together with exhaustion. #6267 will have to lose a few kilos to keep up with this girl – the heat and exertion were all too much for him.

06243 MALE DARK BROWN BASENJI X KELPIE 6-12 MTHS OLD IS ON TOMORROW’S KILL LIST AT BLACKTOWN POUND. HE IS A LOVELY DOG AND HAS FORMED A FRIENDSHIP WITH THE EQUALLY LOVLEY KELPIE X GIRL 06129 WHO IS APPROX 12 MTHS OLD. THESE TWO WOULD MAKE A GREAT PAIR. Kelsey is a very sweet natured, attractive young girl who loves people and dogs. Gentle and affectionate, she would suit a family with junior children and older, but not toddlers as she is still quite boisterous due to her young age. She has her basic commands down but could benefit from more training as she settles into her new family.  Kelsey would suit a family who would give her plenty of exercise as well as mental stimulation/games and she would love to be an inside and outside girl with lounging on the couch one of her favourite activities.

Kapi is a Kelpie cross Collie (rough) who is currently in foster care on the Gold Coast. He is a very intelligent pup who has already learnt basic commands and is already toilet trained. He has picked up crate training very well and is a social boy in puppy school. He gets on great with other dogs and cats. He is great with people and is well behaved around children, soaking up all their pats they have to offer. Although he has come from working lines, he is not demanding or high energy like some pups, though he will require regular excercise and mental stimulation. He walks well on the lead and when he is off, he sticks right by your side. He will make a very smart and loyal pup and will grow to be a medium sized dog.

Scout is a kelpie x collie who, along with his brothers and sisters, is now available for adoption. According to his carer, Scout is a sweet natured, clever boy who gets along fantastically well with other dogs, loves people and loves to cuddle. He has picked up basic training already and is very smart and would make a wonderful pet for an active family willing to spend time training him and including him in day to day family life.

Scout has gone on trial adoption with her new family.

Sookie is a kelpie x collie who, along with her brothers and sisters, is now available for adoption. According to her foster carer, Sooky is a very playful, lovely natured little girl who loves kisses and treats, cuddles and socks  and would go well with another doggy friend. She is also very tolerant of cats.

Fern is a border collie x cattle dog puppy who was rescued from Gladstone pound. According to her foster carers she is very sweet and affectionate and loves to just spend time with you. She has also enjoyed having a foster canine brother to look up to! Fern would love a family to call her own as she has so much love to give

Due to her age Fern is not yet desexed, but will be required to be desexed at an appropriate time pursuant to the provisions of the adoption agreement. The cost is included in Fern’s adoption fee.

Slater is currently in foster care in Townsville with one of his brothers, and according to his carer, he is the most energetic and playful of the two. He loves to play with other dogs and would love a family who understands his exercise needs and who his willing to include him in everyday family life.

Impound number BHSC 394 “Max” Desexed, chipped & possibly Reg.  This beautiful Kelpie male is 12 months old, most work done. He is urgent, due on the 24th Nov.

DOG_DETAILS: Max is very puppy like and still a baby, he sits, stays, comes, walks well on a lead, he loves training but takes food too eagerly so he needs more training there. Max is good with other dogs, easy and happy to be handled and with training would make a great sporting dog, he is under weight, and appears fit and healthy, he loves people, he is a great young boy.
