Note from pound volunteer: Lovely friendly boy. Gentle natured. Stand and ignore, checked in. Easy into guide and place. Did not jump up at any time. Jezza is a responsive boy, good on lead, knows sit and drop. He was tested with Diamond, showed good body language. He would make a great companion, a lovely boy.
Jezza is a soft and gentle natured dog who would make a devoted and wonderful companion
Note from pound volunteer: Described as quiet and gentle, he’s nowhere near as insecure as his female kennelmate (also 11175). While off lead he went and had an explore, whereas the female stayed with the humans. He’s a beautiful soft natured boy who enjoyed pats and attention as it doesn’t appear he’s received a lot of loving in his short life. He came to the gate to greet tester, allowed teeth check and full body handling. Even though he’s small and fine boned, he’s still quite underweight. Assessor could get her hands around his waist easily. His coat has lovely colouring but is dull; he needs good nutrition and a good bath and brush badly. He and his kennelmate were so hungry when given a can of food but still there was no food aggression as they ate together and this boy ate delicately. Even afterwards he was literally drooling when he could see the Lab in the neighbouring pen had some food in his bowl, and this boy was trying to eat it through the wire. Assessors then gave them some of same dry food as the Lab had and this boy stood back while the female ate first, then joined her. Later in the afternoon they thoroughly enjoyed some chicken necks. He doesn’t jump up at all, appears to have lovely manners. He came when called off leash. Sat when asked and took treats gently. On lead he pulls a bit, though you hadly feel it as he’s so light. Needs more training on lead. Overall he’s a truly lovely, gentle natured dog who deserves to be in a loving home. He needs TLC to get him back in tip-top shape and he should reward you with his loyalty. It doesn’t appear he or his kennelmate have had a very good start to their lives and deserve better. If he’s a littermate to the female listed above, then this boy appears a lot more mature, cool and calm.
Note from pound volunteer: Described as very friendly and very playful. She LOVED attention, seemed desperate for some loving. Every time assessor sat down on the picnic table seat, this girl would jump on her lap and lick her face and wanted to be cuddled. She’d put her down and back up she’d spring. She likes lots of human attention. She allowed a teeth check and full body handling. Her health is good although she needs some TLC as her coat is matted in some areas and wispy in others. She’s also underweight. Both her and her male kennelmate (also 11175) were starving and hoed into the bowl of wet food they were given. She gets on very well wither her kennelmate. She needs further training, jumps up on you, however did come when called. On lead she wasn’t too bad, may need a bit more training. Overall this girl needs lots of TLC and attention. Further training would be essential, assessor feels both her and the other 11175 were neglected in their upbringing. Should be great with either a single or a family, although older children because of this girl’s jumping for attention. Wouldn’t recommend to house with cats until maybe further training is carried out. May be littermate of dog listed below
Note from pound volunteer; Described as very friendly and playful. Very energetic. Barks in play. Was introduced to a female Staffy and was a bit over-excited at first, but then they had a sniff and they were fine. He was very keen to mount her all the time, but was also friendly and playful towards her. He doesn’t appear to have had much training, didn’t know sit command and was jumping up. He needs one-on-one time and training. On lead he walks ahead with no pulling. He didn’t resist the “muzzle test” (thumb and index finger cupping muzzle without pressure), he was too interested in the Staffy. Overall he’s a very energetic and playful boy. Seems pretty good with other dogs, although needs more training/socialisation with them. He wasn’t tested with another male adult dog. Would be best homed with older children due to his energy and jumping and cats would not be advisable. He’s a very friendly little boy, seems like a lovely dog.

Kodi is a lovely, friendly and social young pup who was born to Tessa, a gorgeous red stumpy tail cattle dog we got out of West Wyalong pound. Unfortunately Tessa was pregnant when we got her out of the pound and Kodi and one other pup were the resulting litter. Kodi is your typical outgoing young pup who is full of energy and affection.
Please complete our adoption application if you are interested in Kodi.

This youngster is very playful & friendly, although wouldn’t stand still for a second as she was far too busy wanting to know what was going on around her. Very sweet nature about her though. Read the rest of this entry »
