Note from volunteer – a delightful dog. He is very friendly.

Once he had sniffed all around the yard, it was play time.

He absolutely adores chasing after the balls.

He loves lots of cuddles and hugs. His fur is so soft, you

can’t help but want to pat him. He sits on command for treats,

and when asked to, he takes them gently out of your hands.

He enjoyed a wade around in the little pool and walked very well

on the lead returning to his kennel.

If you can help Alan with a foster or adoptive home, please fill in the appropriate

form and return to AWDRI asap.

Ebony is an intelligent, biddable girl who just wants to please. She has had basic obedience and knows her standard commands and is very quick to learn.

Extremely adaptable and sociable, she fits in with any other dogs or people and loves kids too. She has no food or resource guarding issues and is very easy to handle.

She was a challenge to photograph because she was so smart – she quickly figured out within minutes what I was there for. No fool her! She’s a gentle, agile and well mannered young girl.“

Hoover is a lovely sociable boy who is looking for his forever home.

He is safe with AWDRI but is looking for a foster or adoptive home as we

currently have him in temporary accomodation.

Billy is a bit of a charmer, he is a stunning smithfield cattle dog rescued from the Townsville pound. A real smoocher with a thick, soft, and fluffy coat, who loves nothing more than a good cuddle and scratch. Billy is great with kids of all ages and other dogs. He loves the water and to chase the odd ball or stick. Billy is approximately 2 years old and knows how to sit and shake but he does need some more work on his lead.

Described as an outgoing, boisterous fellow who enjoys attention. Once let out of his cage he took a while to settle down. He loves playing with other dogs or people – he’s not fussy about who he can play with! He’s not a dominant dog, just energetic. He’s a real character and intelligent but needs training to focus that energy. His health appears to be good and he allowed a teeth check and full body handling, including legs, feet, ears and tail. He came when called. On lead he was okay after a little while. He’s fine with other dogs – is sharing his cage with a group of other dogs. Overall this boy needs a home where he’ll be given some training or taken to obedience classes. He could be rehomed in either the country on a property or in the city as long as he was given plenty of exercise and training.

Piper is a dream girl, able to fit in with any family as she is so calm and loving. Still gaining confidence since coming into care with AWDRI she will be the easiest pet you’ve ever brought into your home and family.

Great with other dogs once introduced, easy with children and a dream on lead.

Piper is in foster care in Townsville.
