AWDRI has been the victim of a thief who has used our Visa card details to go shopping and hence has reduced our financial capacity significantly and thus affecting our ability to continue to rescue the number of dogs we would normally be able to.
Because the theft took place interstate we have had to lodge a formal complaint with the Federal Police who will be investigating the fraud (they actually used Di’s name to purchase the goods) and theft and the bank is unable to return our funds until the retailers concerned are able to get the person to return the products purchased.
We have also had to cancel the Visa card and wait for a new one so our payment methods are affected as well while we wait for that to arrive.
Until then we need your help to continue operating and saving dogs. Please spread the word and help us to raise some funds. All donations over $2 are tax deductible.
Read more on our Donations page on the website.
Thank you so much,
Di & Carey Edwards

Described as a very energetic, happy, friendly little fellow who is also a big sook. His health appears to be good and he allowed a teeth check and full body handling, although he didn’t like his paws being handled. He has no obedience training as yet and wasn’t tested on lead as he had to be carried out to the yard – he was timid to be walked past the other dog cages. He played with the rope toy a little and during the “startle test” (squeaky toy), he startled a little. Overall he’s a friendly, very energetic boy; a typical young pup with no training or socialisation as yet. He’ll need a home prepared to train him so he grows up with good manners and he could even suit a home with another friendly dog to learn from and play with.
Lily – Cattle x Border Collie, Female, 11 months – Moranbah, QLD
Update: Lily has gone back to her family.
Lily is being rehomed through no fault of her own, she has a beautiful personality, and is great with kids and other dogs. She’s a happy dog with lots of energy to burn.
Lily is submissive, but very playful and loves the company of other dogs, so ideally we would like her to be rehomed somewhere that she will have another canine companion. She won’t necessarily need to be rehomed onto acreage, as she doesn’t bark, jump or dig, but like all working dogs she will need exercise and mental stimulation.
Her foster carer says she’s a dream to walk, doesn’t pull or want to stop for sniffs, happy just to be in your company – what a bonus!
She is good with kids, maybe a little timid (no nastiness just gets a bit overwhelmed) so would probably suit a family with older children.
If you think Lily is the dog for you, and can provide her with the loving and forever home she deserves please head to the website and fill out an adoption application.
