Vinny Bear – male red ACD x – 2-3 years – Sydney, NSW *Adopted in WA*

By admin Posted in Adopted, AWDRI Dogs, New South Wales (NSW) /

Update 6/12: Vinny is in temp care in Sydney pending transport to Victoria in to foster care.

Vinny is a fluff ball ACD. He’s got just a bit more hair than the average ACD. He’s also got a little bit of a different personality. Happy to be by himself or around other dogs, Vinny will nonetheless look very cute and happy no matter what he’s doing. He’s a little larger than the typical ACD but not a large dog even though he looks it with all that fur.

Vinny’s in foster care in NSW. If you’d like to meet or adopt Vinny and give him a furever home for Christmas then please fill out an adoption form on our website.

‘Pepper’ – 3.5yr old female ACD x Kelpie, Yarra Ranges Vic

Pepper is a very smart girl and has had a lot of training, she is very obedient and loves to show off her tricks. She walks nicely on a lead but due to her more rural upbringing she sometimes tends to lunge at cars. Pepper is selective with the dogs she likes, but can live well with other dogs if introduced well. Peppersometimes feels uncomfortable with new people and will protect her owner if she thinks she needs to. She loves toys especially squeaky or fluffy ones and her favourite thing to do is fetch a stick. She is good with horses and other farm animals, but will chase a cat. Pepper gives all her effort to everything she does!

Pepper has her own Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/pages/PEPPER/317076155015301

If you are interested in meeting or adopting Pepper please fill in the form on our website http://www.workingdogrescue.com.au/application-forms/apply-to-adopt-from-awdri/

Sunny – Border Collie x Cattle dog, female, 2 years – Cairns

By AWDRI_13 Posted in Adopted, AWDRI Dogs, FNQ, Queensland (QLD) /

Sunny is a lovely natured Border Collie x Cattle dog who was surrendered through no fault of her own. She had only been in foster care a day when she started acting protectively towards her foster carer’s daughter when she was swimming in the pool. She seems to be great with other dogs and loves to play catch with a tennis ball.
No idea why this dog was surrendered she seems pretty amazing. Would be the perfect family dog!

If you are interested in adopting Sunny please complete the adoption application on our website.
http://www.workingdogrescue.com.au/application-forms/apply-to-adopt-from-awdri/

Her adoption fee of $300 each covers desexing, vaccination, heartworm test and commencement on monthly heartworm/worming/flea treatment.

Baz – Male ACD 1-2yo, Blacktown NSW

By VicPounds Posted in Adopted, AWDRI Dogs, New South Wales (NSW) /

Update 30/11: Baz has been saved and is going through the desexing program at Blacktown Pound and will be going into foster care on the north coast of NSW.

URGENT – on PTS list 28/11

Note from volunteer – What a cutie. He is a timid boy and hesitated when I went into his kennel. He offered no objections with me while I was putting the check chain on around his neck. He was obviously scared going passed the dogs that were barking at him and stayed very close to my side as we were making our way out of the kennel block. Once out in the large yard, he did nothing but sniff. He was intrigued by the goats that were in the other yard, but not brave enough to go too close. I took him on a walk, he walked well on the lead and didn’t pull at all. He seemed to relax after the walk, and enjoyed a good run around when taken back into the large yard. This boy sits on command. He showed lots of affection after this, and liked nothing better than lots of cuddles.
