3 – 1yo male kelpie x, DAS Canberra

URGENT- must have save by 5pm 31/1

This guy is a really nice dog that has a lot of energy and not much training but a lot of potential in the right hands. He needs an active home that will work on his training and socilasation. He is clever and responsive. We felt that he may have some GSD in the mix also.

Bella – female 4 month old BC x Kelpie x ACD – far north NSW coast *Adopted*

By admin Posted in Adopted, AWDRI Dogs, New South Wales (NSW) /

Bella came to us a sad and scared little girl. She has come a long way with a lot of love and patience. Bella is very sweet and loves to cuddle. She loves nothing more than to climb into your lap!

You will be greeted every time you walk through the front door with a leap, bound and lots of licks! She is very obedient and respectful and has learned basic commands like “sit” and “down” (for lay down).

She is toilet trained, though in a new place it would be beneficial for her to be shown where she is to go. She has learned this quickly with her carer simply by taking her to the yard, letting her sniff around, then when she goes the action is reinforced with the word “toilet!” a few times and then she is praised with an enthusiastic “good girl!”

Bella responds best to positive reinforcement, if a male voice tells her “no!” too loudly it frightens her because of her tough early life before she came to us. She knows when she is not doing as you ask/expect (stealing the dog food can out of the bin!) a simple “UH UH!” stops her in her tracks. She gets along famously with other dogs and didn’t bat an eyelid at her foster cat sibling, though she would benefit the most from a home where she can be inside with her new family. She will make a very close and loyal companion for life. She really is a treasure.

Please complete our adoption questionnaire if you can give her a loving home.

Dutch – Male 2 1/2 yr old- Blue ACD – Caboolture, Qld *Adopted*

By admin Posted in Adopted, AWDRI Dogs, Queensland (QLD) /

RESUME OF DUTCH

Tradies Assistant available for immediate start

PERSONAL DETAILS

NAME: Dutch

AGE: 2 ½ years old

SEX: Male

BREED: Blue Cattle dog cross

PERSONAL STATEMENT

To be honest my resume is pretty thin but only because I have never been given the opportunity to show anyone what I am really capable of doing, and also I am still young. But given the right position and boss I know that I can thrive. I will be your best mate for the rest of my life and I will never let you down.

I pride myself on not being a “crazy constantly running nut job” I am living with one of those at the moment and between you and me let’s just say there’s not much between the ears. Myself, I am more of a thinker, don’t get me wrong I love a good run down at the beach, but I don’t have to do it all day long. I prefer to be hanging out with my mates just chillin in the shade.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • I am fully qualified to sit in the back of your ute.
  • On occasions I have been 2IC and been up front with the driver.
  • Superior lunch box guardian and quality controller.
  • I already know how to sit on command.
  • Wait at the gate.
  • Sit for dinner.
  • Walking on the lead is a breeze and I come when I am called.
  • I love kids but I am a stocky boy and I still need to learn not to push them over when I am excited
  • De-sexed
  • Vaccinated
  • Micro chipped
  • Wormed
  • Flea Treated

PERSONAL REFEREES – Current Foster

I have known Dutch for a couple of weeks now and within that time I have found him to be an honest and hard working dog. Dutch would be better suited to a position where he is in charge as sometimes he has issues taking orders from other dogs.

He has been fine with my 2 year old daughter but he is a stocky, strong dog and he still needs to learn to curb his excitement when it comes time to go for a walk or get in the car.

He is a dog that wants to be with you all day long and I can honestly see him fitting in fine on a worksite or at a workshop.

Dutch has never chewed or dug or tried to get out. He is currently running with 3 other dogs, 2 males and 1 female and the only time he has gotten agro is when we’ve been getting in the car and the younger dogs have been jumping all over him. He just gives them a quick snip to shut them up.

He knows all his basic obedience commands but again gets excited when given good praise and then jumps up at you so more training is needed. I know he will give his new owners 110% and show you the love, respect and devotion that only come with owning a cattle dog.

*URGENT* 2yr old female Kelpie x – Maryborough Pound QLD

By WideBayDogs Posted in Queensland (QLD), Urgent /

This happy little girl is all smiles when you visit her kennel. She is very affectionate and friendly and is quite a thickset girl. She appears to be around 2 yrs old and a Kelpie cross. She loves a bit of attention and would thrive in a home environment.

She appears to be a little sore around her tummy so may have injured herself whilst roaming – there is also a chance that she could be in pup due to her larger belly and slightly enlarged nipples, but this is simply by a quick observation – it would need to be clarified by a Veterinarian.

Please note that she is a Pounddog on the PTS list, so we are unaware of what she would be like with cats, children or other dogs.

If you can give this sweet girl a second chance at a better life, please fill out our online adoption or foster forms.
