420 – Mud – 8yo male ACD x GSD, Queanbeyan Pound ACT
Safe with ARF
Due 29/3
Volunteer notes: Overall Mud is one beautiful natured dog. He is calm and appears easy going. He takes treats very gently. At first glance he looks overweight but he has broad shoulders and lots of thick gorgeous fur! He also has huge paws. A great dog who you can’t help but love.
Mud was surrendered because he was chasing horses on his owner’s property.Very easy to guide into a sit and drop.
Appropriate when he met Toby the staffy who was forward in their greeting. Can sit and shake. Walks really well on lead.
No signs of fence jumping.
Gypsy is a 5 year old kelpie/BC cross with velvet soft fur (I can’t stop patting her!) She is very much into her ball (any ball will do!) Bring out a ball and she acts like any puppy. Her leaps, jumps, and dives would not be out of place in the Olympics.
She would make a WONDERFUL flyball dog. When not in “training” she does enjoy spending time with her people more than anything.
She has excellent recall and is able to reliably be walked off lead as she comes back when called (especially if you have the BALL!)
She is a bit unsure when meeting new dogs, but with gentle introductions adjusts well. With her athletic abilities a fence over 6feet in height is a must.
To adopt Gypsy and make her your exercise buddy just fill out the form: http://www.workingdogrescue.com.au/application-forms/apply-to-adopt-from-awdri/

Gecko – Male blue 8 month old ACD – Canberra, ACT
Gecko is a loving, cuddly quiet boy with a soft temperament. Like most ACDs he lives for spending time with his people. He isn’t picky as to what you do with him (out for a walk or play or just sit and watch telly) he just wants to be your best friend. He has been quick to learn toileting habits, sleeps in his own bed inside the house and sits for his dinner.
He has had trouble learning to wait his turn when treats are being handed out to him and his foster (fur) siblings (impulse control is so hard when there are yummy things on offer!). Being a puppy he still needs continuing training but thrives on being taught new skills and concepts.
He will thrive with a family that can devote a lot of time and attention to him and will make him a big part of their daily life

This lovely old girl is a little bit anxious about being in here she is a lovely old girl that is looking for the quiet life. She was taken off lead and she happily walked along the path just in front of the handler. She did get distracted by a gentleman that came to the fence and wagged her tail at him
