Molly – 18 month old female Border Collie x – Cairns, Qld

Molly is a ball nut in the nicest possible way :D She absolutely loves fetching and bringing her ball back to you to throw again and again. She also loves driving in the car, going for long romantic walks along the beach and cuddling up on the couch.

Friendly with all people (especially anyone who will throw her ball) she also gets on well with other dogs and cats.

She has been both an inside and outside dog and will adjust either way as long as she has her balls and her breakfast and dinner and some company to keep her occupied and stimulated.

She’s not a climber or digger and will exist happily in any size yard; after all you don’t have to run far to get a ball, just have many repetitions (are you picking up a theme here yet? :p)

So, yes, Molly loves chasing a ball and will take it over having a treat but she is such an easy dog to have around and a great companion, even kissing you when you least expect it.

She will make a wonderful pet for any active family although may suit one with slightly older children as she does jump up a bit and pull on the lead, traits which we are working on at present.

To meet or adopt Molly please complete our adoption questionnaire: http://www.workingdogrescue.com.au/application-forms/apply-to-adopt-from-awdri/

Razz – 2-4yo male ACD, Melbourne Vic *On trial with my new family*

If you’re looking for a best friend who will stick by your side Razz is your guy.

This great looking boy is eager to please and will never turn down hugs and pats. He walks well on lead, comes when called and has all round good doggy manners. He doesn’t seem to have had much training before but learns so quickly just to show you how much he wants to make you happy. This gentle boy loves a good long walk and some playtime then he’s happy to chill out with his person.

Like most Cattle Dogs, Razz can be a little shy around strangers. He doesn’t seem to have had much socialisation in his life, particularly with other animals, so he will need an owner who is willing to help him build his confidence. He is best suited to a single dog household where he doesn’t have to share the attention and love.

Razz is the perfect age. No puppy antics but still with plenty of energy and bounce. His health is excellent and his coat is easy care with only a little shedding. Your garden will be safe from destruction so long as he gets exercise and is welcomed inside the home.

Razz needs a relaxed and confident human to help him feel safe and secure. He will thrive on plenty of human interaction and is best suited to a home where he will be a part of the family.

To meet Razz or to chat to his foster carer about his suitability for your family please complete our adoption questionnaire: http://www.workingdogrescue.com.au/application-forms/apply-to-adopt-from-awdri/

Patch – male blue 2-3 yr old ACD – Sydney, NSW *On Trial with my new family*

Patch is very friendly and aims to please. He enjoys anyone’s company and is a breeze to walk, even with a 9 year old at the end of the lead. He does get a little excited and pulls a little when approaching another dog but with extra training this could be easily fixed. Still a little timid he does startle if in a crowd or when exposed to loud noises but is improving day by day. He shows no aggression even when confronted by loose, aggressive dogs. He enjoys playing ball or any kind of toy that can be thrown or shaken.

He is learning to sit/stay and how to trust people again. When walking off lead he will circle around his person and nudge them on the back of the leg, seeking reassurance and affirming contact with them. He is lovely with his 2 legged foster sisters, aged 5 and 9 and although shy when meeting new people soon relaxes and will happily try and climb into their lap for a cuddle. His need for affirmation also shows in how he leans against his carer constantly if she stands or sits still for any length of time.

Patch is seeking a loving and gentle home where he can continue to regain his faith in humanity and where he will receive ongoing training and socialisation. He will reward you with cuddles galore for your efforts.

Patch is in foster care in Sydney.

Opal – 4 year old female red Kelpie x Koolie – Lismore area, Northern NSW *Adoption pending*

Opal is a ridiculously good looking dog. Quite apart from that she is gentle soul who loves a pat, a walk and a bone. Having only been with us a short time her true personality is still emerging as she gains confidence and learns to relax, play and have fun. To date she has been fine with kids, chooks, wallabies, cows, pigs, sheep and other dogs.

Opal is not a demanding dog and is very responsive with a willingness to please which will make her easily trainable. She is a pleasure to be around and will provide her adopters with endless joy.

Opal is a small kelpie dog around 13kg who had a litter of 7 pups roughly 7 weeks ago so she is not yet able to be desexed. She will be desexed prior to going to her adoptive home though. Her pups have all come into our care as well and will be advertised on our site shortly.

Finn – 1yo male kelpie, Melbourne, Vic *On trial with my new family*

“Finn” also known as “Finnigan” is a young handsome ball of love and is looking for a human who will just spend time with him. With a medium energy level he is just as happy to sit by your side as he is to go for a run. Finn was originally fostered with the intent to become a trained working sheep dog; however Finn is not that interested and would rather play.
He is great with other dogs, and has been living with 9 other dogs with no arguments, he loves people, and has been introduced to children with no problems, and he shows little interest in cats. He is a dream to handle however does need a prompt every now and then. He does jump a 4ft gate, but when he does jump it he comes straight up to the house and sits at the doorstep. He is not loud and only barks when happy. Finn walks loosely on a lead, jumps into the ute, knows sit, stay and has brilliant recall. He is a very fast learner and thrives on being taught new things.
A family who would not leave him at home all day would be suited, or a tradie who will let him hang out with them all day. He does not need another doggy companion, but will be happy either way.

To meet or adopt please fill out our adoption form. Please note that completing the application form does not place you under any obligation to adopt.
