RF NOTES | has old injury on top of head which makes his hair growth on top of his head like a ridge, young teenager, gorgeous friendly boy who is quite obedient for a youngster
VOLUNTEER NOTES | Ernest, obnoxious, energetic, exciteable, loving = I see all that in this picture which is why I’ve chosen to use it. This cutie is an extremely friendly chap who is extremely bored in his kennel, and subsequently has a build up of energy he needs to expend. So he decides to bark, and bark, and bark at his neighbours – but his bumb is wiggling all the while. He is fairly easy to correct out of his behaviour though – but be warned, turn your back and he’s more than likely to start up again! Maybe a better analogy would be to think of him as the the class loudmouth who hides his insecurity behind his vocalness – c’mon, everyone had one of those in their class, right? Taking him outside I discovered three things – for all his brashness he finds comfort with the other pooches and was barking towards them so he could go back. But he quickly realised that he also adores cuddles and wanted your arms (a big kissy face too!). So the poor chap was conflicted. The third thing was – this boy needs to be put to work. He will respond to your command, just needs the training so he can be out there doing what his breed is meant to do. He does need obedience training, but harness his energy, direct it in the right direction and he will be one superb dog. (AK 29/4)

Update 25/4 – Safe with Puppy Love Rescue if not adopted

Kelpie- blue, young adult.

Not much info on the young man as yet, but appears to be a stray but is a gorgeous happy boy.

Limited info on these pups,  but, these kelpie Crosses are mainly black. One has small patch of white on chest, and the other has white chest, neck & legs. Only two photographed, 3 need rescue.

These pups are the most urgent as have been there ages.

Update 25/4 – Safe with rescue

Volunteer notes: Very quiet and at times timid. Walks very well on the lead. Will come when called, will drop with drop command , will roll over with turn of hand, will sit with finger command, will stay with hand command. This girl has had some form of formal training and is very obedient with commands. Introduced to male lab x who was very jumpy and excited this little girl was intimidated and scared and did snap ( without touching) to warn him off. also introduced to female spaniel who was also a bit jumpy and jumped upon her face a bit, she was more tolerant of the female. At the time there were three dogs and 5 adult people in the yard, being new to the yard and out of her pen i feel this may have been a bit much for her so I re tested her in the shelter in her pen with RFS: 12414 Maltese x, she accepted the maltese well having time to be introduced properly, they are now sharing a pen together and appear to get on fine. A very placid and quiet girl who is a little timid around unfamiliar people and places. She is very affectionate and loving once she has been reassured all is ok. She enjoys going for a walk and walks very well on the lead, I believe she may have had puppy training as she follows and understands commands well, she is very gentle by nature and would make a loving family pet.

Volunteer notes:  Happy, energetic young dog. He didn’t want to walk on the lead on the way outside, he was good walking back in. He will come and sit when asked. Introduced to male Kelpie x crm/rfs 12429, they got on well together. He is a very affectionate young boy, he enjoyed getting pats and cuddles today. He had a lot of fun playing with the other Kelpie and loves playing in water. He would make a great pet

Volunteer notes: Easy going affectionate boy. Pulled a bit on lead, needs more training He will sit, but doesn’t seem to know anything else. Introduced to male Kelpie x crm/rfs 12423 they got on very well together. Very happy playful boy, he loves affection would make a very nice companion
