Huey arrived with a hairline fracture to his right foreleg which requires splinting, bandage changes and confinement. In true cattle dog style, he takes all of this in his stride. Huey is a lively and loving dog with lots of character. He is a typical cattle dog, being loyal and always at your side, and has a good nature, getting on well with his gentle foster sister and rather bossy foster brother. When introduced to cattle and horses, he was interested but calm, although he hasn’t been into the paddock with them. He chases cats with fervour, and a home with cats would not be recommended. Huey is biddable and responds well to commands and is progressing very well with his toilet training. He has been left in a crate while his fracture has been healing and has shown no signs of being destructive to his bandage or his bedding. He loves nothing better than to cuddle up next to you or sit at your feet, but does not appreciate being excluded from company and will become demanding if this happens (barking). He therefore requires a home where he is included as part of the family, and then he will be a loving and loyal companion. He is a little protective of his home but has shown no signs of aggression.
