Bella came to us a sad and scared little girl. She has come a long way with a lot of love and patience. Bella is very sweet and loves to cuddle. She loves nothing more than to climb into your lap!

You will be greeted every time you walk through the front door with a leap, bound and lots of licks! She is very obedient and respectful and has learned basic commands like “sit” and “down” (for lay down).

She is toilet trained, though in a new place it would be beneficial for her to be shown where she is to go. She has learned this quickly with her carer simply by taking her to the yard, letting her sniff around, then when she goes the action is reinforced with the word “toilet!” a few times and then she is praised with an enthusiastic “good girl!”

Bella responds best to positive reinforcement, if a male voice tells her “no!” too loudly it frightens her because of her tough early life before she came to us. She knows when she is not doing as you ask/expect (stealing the dog food can out of the bin!) a simple “UH UH!” stops her in her tracks. She gets along famously with other dogs and didn’t bat an eyelid at her foster cat sibling, though she would benefit the most from a home where she can be inside with her new family. She will make a very close and loyal companion for life. She really is a treasure.

Update 28/01:Adopted from the pound.

On PTS list 1/2.

Volunteer Notes: When I called this girl on the outside of her kennel, she didn’t react, she was lying on the ground asleep. I thought she might have been ill, I went into her kennel to check. She still didn’t react with the noise I made. I got the fright of my life when I touched her leg, her head quickly popped up off the ground. Once she seen me, she was up giving me lots of cuddles and snuggling into me. Her fur is so soft, you couldn’t help but want to pat her. This little girl is totally deaf, which is the answer to the lack of acknowledgement when I went into her kennel. She is the sweetest, loving, gentle girl. She was given a bath as she was so dirty and scratching madly. She rested half her body against me and thats how we did it. (lucky for aprons) She didn’t complain once. She sits on command when she is given hand signal,s as well as some treats. She likes to be by your side. She walks well on the lead.

Update 30/01: Dutch is coming into foster care with AWDRI and will be available to adopt once his vetting etc has been attended to. Further temperament information and photos will be posted once we have him in our care.

Gets on with other dogs but is very timid with the possibility that he has been ill treated. He has a very nice nature.

Panda is a happy little fella who is going to make one lucky owner very happy indeed! He’s only new to life so still needs gentle exposure to some things but he seems to take everything in his – albeit small – stride.

He’s friendly and confident with other dogs and has already made many friends at the local dog park however it’s human attention he craves the most. Panda is happiest when in the same room as his two legged companions so would much prefer the opportunity to be an inside dog. While he doesn’t beg for attention, he’s definitely first on the scene when there’s a cuddle going!

Panda seems to have toilet trained himself having no accidents inside to date. However, when taken to a new environment I suspect a little reminder of where to toilet would be helpful. His past history of flea allergy dermatitis would indicate that his new owner would need to be particularly vigilant with flea control.

Overall, he’s a medium energy pup that’ll grow into a medium size dog. He’s also guaranteed to be loyal, smart & will soften the heart of all who meet him!

Meet Shiloh! This little lady came to us very shy and timid after a rough start to life but since then she has thrived and has become an active happy and very smart young pup, she has picked up basic obedience really quickly and absolutely loves all types of interaction be that with people, other dogs, and kids.
Shi is very affectionate and is already showing loyalty to us, her foster carers, and have proved she’s ready to find her new family and her forever home.

Update 31/1 – Narla is in care with another rescue and has had 7 pups

Observation Notes: Narla likes a bark or two for attention & a game but she seems otherwise well behaved. She is very friendly but above all she is a sweetheart who just needs some TLC to shine through. Please note Narla is about 2 months pregnant. Staff would love to see her taken into care ASAP so she can have her pups in a suitable environment.
