Boags – 11 week old male short haired Border Collie pup – Bendigo, Vic *Adopted*

By admin Posted in Adopted, AWDRI Dogs, Victoria (VIC) /

Boags is the alpha male of this litter of beautiful short haired border collies. He is 11 weeks old and the biggest and strongest boy in the pack. Boags loves to run with the older dogs and herd the neighbours goats. He has the eye for herding and will make a great farm dog. He may be equally at home as an only dog or with others and has a lovely confidence about him.

Our pups are fostered in a farm with lots of socialisation with toddlers, children, other dogs, cats, chooks and horses. They are taught basic manners and obedience and are given lots of physical and mental stimulation.

These border collies come from working bloodlines. They need a huge amount of daily mental and physical stimulation. Boags will make a wonderful companion, provided she is given the right amount of stimulation or work to do.  If he is allowed to get bored, she will quickly become destructive and will reshape your garden and your furniture! If given plenty to do, these pups will make incredible companions.

In accordance with Victorian legislation and our own policies all dogs are microchipped, vaccinated to C5 and wormed, in addition to being desexed (if too young they are adopted under a desexing contract). Microchip numbers will be divulged to the successful adoption applicant.

To find out more about Boags or to meet him with a view to adoption please complete the adoption questionnaire: http://www.workingdogrescue.com.au/application-forms/apply-to-adopt-from-awdri/

Flip – 6 month old male kelpie – Melbourne, Vic *Adopted*

By admin Posted in Adopted, AWDRI Dogs, Victoria (VIC) /

Flip is such a very sweet dog. He has a gentle nature and is very willing to please. He came to us with no manners but, in a few days, he has learnt not to jump up, to behave around food, and his toilet training (although he sometimes finds it hard to hold on). Loves playing with toys and stays with the group when walked off lead. Gets on well with our other 2 dogs. Likes to chase the cats, but not in a nasty way, however the cats aren’t too impressed. He’s active but not high maintenance, and when I have left him inside while at work he hasn’t chewed anything. Likes a cuddle but he’s not demanding. Overall, a very sweet natured pup.

To meet or adopt please fill out our adoption form. Please note that completing the application form does not place you under any obligation to adopt.

Freckles – ACD X- Female – 6 months, Hervey Bay, QLD *Adopted*

By SouthernNSW Posted in Adopted, AWDRI Dogs, Queensland (QLD) /

Freckles is the most loyal loving pup I have been around in a while, she is cute, inquisitive and extremely obedient. It only took one night for her to learn to wee outside with only one little mistake. She loves cuddles and attention. She is never far away from me, always at my feet, wanting to be with me at all times, and please me, she ties up, gets along well with other dogs, isn’t aggressive at all, just wants to play, doesn’t chase our guinea fowl, or the horses and sits quietly in the back of the car. Will make an excellent guard dog or family dog, she loves kids, licks them and sits so that they can pat her, children have brushed her and played with her without any problems. Freckles comes when called every time, never wonders away, and is more than happy to play by herself, runs around, is quite energetic but gets tuckered out pretty quick. She would suit anyone looking for a best friend, a family or single person. She is a truly wonderful little dog I honestly can’t say how enjoyable she is to have around, never a typical naughty puppy, she is nothing but a joy and brings a smile to my face all the time. Gorgeous face and fantastic temperment, she will make some one very happy.

To find out more about Freckles or to meet her with a view to adoption please fill out our adoption form. Please note that completing the application form does not place you under any obligation to adopt.

FULL BODY TOUCH: allowed

PERSONALITY: On this day 27/02/12 at 11am, I found this girl to be very friendly and affectionate; she jumps up on people for pats.

LEAD TRAINING: She was ok on the lead, but needs more training.

FORMAL TRAINING: She appears to have had none.

OTHER DOGS: She has apparently been taken out with four other dogs, and was very good with them. She was playful, and not aggressive at all.
