Ringo is an incredibly good looking dog.
He doesn’t bark very much, but he still does bark at other dogs though. He’s very loyal, and loves to cuddle. Great recall, and will do anything to play fetch with you, he loves tennis balls and will throw them to himself.
His foster carers give him a minimum of one hour exercise each day; a walk won’t suffice so he gets to go to the dog park where a tennis ball thrower is utilised and he can chase a ball for over an hour! This gets him tired for the night and he will settle down to sleep for the night.
Ringo gets along great with other dogs, but if he is rehomed with another dog, he picks up pack behavior very quickly, so if your dog gets a bit rough at the dog park, Ringo will join in. Luckily he’s easy distracted with a tennis ball, and will listen to his name.
He hasn’t been house trained, but he is in training for it. So far so good, only a few slip ups!
He’s also a big guts, and is very food motives, he practically inhales his food! He’s incredibly smart and learns things immediately, so food will come in handy for training. He will need daily enrichment for when no one is home, to keep his brain motivated, like bones or kongs or doggy ice blocks.
Ringo would suit a family as he loves children and people and to cuddle on the lounge, but like with any dog, supervision around children is vital.
He is also fine with cats, and pays no attention to them.
Ringo is a very cuddly dog and wants nothing more than to sit with you and have lots of cuddles and scratches on the tummy. An obedience class would benefit Ringo greatly, he shows a lot of appeasement behavior and really just wants to impress you, and since he is so smart, he does need a leader who can keep up his obedience and to look upto and follow the rules from.
To sum up:
He’s a fantastic dog, great looks, great personality, lots of fun, and easy to handle, obedient. High energy dog, Great in a family environment, with an active couple, or an older couple who can exercise him daily (he will not suit a new family or a family who is expecting). Great with children, cats and dogs.
You will love him!
