Floyd – male kelpie x junior – Adelaide, SA

Floyd is currently living with two young children, a Jack Russel puppy and his sister – Sunny. He is a happy, goofy boy who desperately wants a family to call his own.
Floyd can be nervous around unfamiliar dogs and people and will need more socialisation to become confident.Floyd needs a home where he has a confident, patient female care giver as he is currently fearful of males, although will warm up to them if they make the effort with him. He very rarely barks, but will warn you of strangers around.

Being part Labrador, Floyd LOVES his food, which makes him easy to train. He currently sits on command and comes when called but is very smart and I have no doubt that he can be taught many more things.

Floyd is a big boy, with huge feet and he bounds around happily everywhere. He is not hugely experienced on the leash but is quite willing to learn, although he does get slightly scared of strange noises. He has one major quirky habit – he loves to dig!. He digs a bit, turns around to chase the dirt that he has flicked up, then turns around and digs again, wagging his tail happily the whole time. He won’t chase a ball but if you throw dirt around he will chase it all over the yard.

Floyd will happily sit in your lap, providing you don’t mind squashed legs, for hours and he loves being around people. He will reward his family with plenty of love, licks and laughter.

Billy – male 12-18 month old Kelpie – Adelaide, SA

Billy is a handsome black male Kelpie who is 12-18mths old. He was dumped at the council depot gates, the inspector is pretty sure he knows where he came from but can’t prove it & the people have shot through. They only had farm fencing & he was tied up when the owners went out & left off when they were home. He is not good with cats but great with other dogs. Not sure what he’s like with sheep. He loves fetching sticks, balls etc. & knows how to sit. He is fine in the car although occasionally barks at a passing car. He is a very, very smart boy who will learn super quick!

He does not like to be enclosed in a backyard & if the fencing isn’t great he will try to escape so he would be best suited to a property & maybe tried with sheep?

Billy is a very friendly boy who is good with kids & would benefit from a home where he will receive plenty of exercise.

To meet or adopt Billy please complete our adoption questionnaire: http://www.workingdogrescue.com.au/application-forms/apply-to-adopt-from-awdri/

Sophie – Kelpie x – Female 2-3 yo – Adelaide, SA

Sophie has a lovely gentle nature as well as being extraordinarily beautiful and although she is not an overly excitable dog she does like to chase cars if she has the opportunity and requires secure fencing.

She is happiest when she is with her person laying at their feet or having a cuddle,  and will take  belly rubs all day long.

Sophie gets along well with other dogs, but even if she encounters one that is aggressive she will turn and walk away; she is not into fighting for dominance.

Sophie would make a loving and loyal companion with a family who can spend time with her.

If you are interested in finding out more about Sophie or meeting her with a view to adopting her please complete our adoption questionnaire: http://www.workingdogrescue.com.au/application-forms/apply-to-adopt-from-awdri/
